Louisville Metro Police are bringing in a nationally recognized expert on leadership and diversity as part of a training initiative involving 28 of the force's newest lieutenants.
Hajir Nuriddin is a 24-year veteran of the Bakersfield, California Police Department. She's currently Captain of the Investigations Division there. Nuriddin emphasizes the importance of teamwork and how changing demographics are changing police work.
She has both Bachelor and Master of Public Administration degrees and has also taught executives in the private sector.
LMPD and Target are sponsoring the leadership training.
