A Louisville Metro Police officer has been fired a second time based on poor job performance and violating several department policies.
Queen Deborah Ca'Mel was fired Monday, charged with damaging her vehicle in an accident and arresting someone without a warrant.
Ca'Mel had been fired in March for poor job performance while on probation, but was reinstated two weeks later when it was determined her probationary period had not been extended properly. Police Chief Robert White can fire probationary officers without them having a right to appeal.
Under the new termination, Ca'Mel was cited for several performance errors. "Your lack of competence in many areas required to be a police officer jeopardizes your safety as well as officers and our community," White wrote in her termination letter.
Ca'Mel's attorney, David Leightty, declined to discuss the case but said his client will appeal to the Police Merit Board.
