The attorney for the JCPS student found hanging in a bathroom stall accuses Louisville police of dragging their feet on the investigation -- but the department is firing back.
Attorney Teddy Gordon claims two bullies tried to kill the second grader, who was found hanging on a hook in a bathroom at Frayser Elementary last month.
Gordon sent a letter to LMPD Chief Robert White, saying the investigation is lagging: "There has been no conclusion to the investigation, there has been no response to a letter I wrote Chief White, and we have received no additional information as to where the police investigation is."
But LMPD spokesman Robert Biven says Gordon is not cooperating: "There's just no indication that foul play is involved. Our detectives have interviewed numerous people -- students, faculty. we've interviewed the victim a few times -- denied."
Gordon named two boys as suspects in the alleged attack. The police investigation found that the boys were nowhere near the bathroom.
LMPD is waiting for medical results to complete its investigation, then the county attorney will take over the case.
