A Bullitt County sheriff's deputy fatally shot a man near Hillview while responding Friday to a domestic incident, police said.
The identities of the dead man and the deputy who fired the shot were not immediately released.
Kentucky State Police Trooper Bruce Reeves said a deputy arrived in the 900 block of Dublin Circle about 1:30 p.m. in response to a domestic dispute call by someone in the home.
The deputy entered the home and found a man with firearm, Reeves said.
The deputy ordered the man to put down the weapon, and after the man refused the deputy fired, Reeves said.
It wasn't immediately clear whether the man was pointing the gun at the deputy or anyone else inside.
Reeves said the man was a resident of the home, where he said there had been numerous domestic complaints reported in recent years.
