A man leaving a cemetery was killed when his car was struck by a police cruiser on Wednesday, NBC 10 reported.
Killed in the accident was Charles Crytser, 60, of Bensalem. He died at a local hospital following the accident.
Police said the officer was responding to a report of a man with a weapon when he crashed into Crytser just outside of the entrance to the cemetery.
Crytser lived alone. He had taken care of his wife, who suffered from multiple sclerosis and died a couple of years ago. Neighbors said Crytser was visiting her grave.
The officer involved in the accident was transported to a local hospital with injuries to his left leg, authorities said.
Police said the man with the gun was distraught over a domestic situation and was subdued by other officers.
