2 people are dead and 4 are injured after 2 separate shootings took place last night in Louisville.
The first shooting occured 9:40 p.m. outside the Waflle House restaurant in the 4700 blk of Pereston Highway where one person died and two were transported to University Hospital with non-fatal injuries. It has not yet been released as to the circumstances or suspects involved in that incident.
The second shooting occured just 7 hours later where 3 teenagers were shot inside a home in the 3600 block of Hale Avenue. All 3 victims were transported to University Hospital, but 18 year old LaJuan Smith was pronounced dead at 8:55 a.m. One of the other victims, a 14 year old juvenile was shot in the head and is in serious condition. The status of the 3rd victim, also 14, is not known.
Sources say this shooting was perpetrated using an assult rifle.
