Homicide detectives are investigating after two people were killed in two separate incidents less than two hours apart overnight. The first murder happened around 2 a.m. at the Melwood Arts Center. That's where police say man was stabbed during a fight outside the center.
The victim's name has not yet been released, but we do know he is a Hispanic male in his 20s. Police were interviewing witnesses from the party.
The second homicide happened around 3:15 a.m. near the Clark Memorial Bridge at Second and Main when an officer heard the sound of gunfire. Police say a vehicle was traveling south from the bridge when someone opened fire on it, striking the driver.
He was taken to University Hospital where he later died. A passenger in the vehicle was not injured.
