Authorities have identified the body found Saturday inside a city sanitation truck as the 4 year old boy missing since June 29th. Around Noon Monday, the Jefferson County Coroner's Office announced the body is that of Cezar Ivan Aguliar Cano. Ivan -- as he is called by his family -- was last seen outside his Oakdale Avenue home near Churchill Downs.

At a press conference at police headquarters, Jefferson County coroner Ron Holmes said that body was identifed using dental records. Holmes also said that the body was partially decomposed. He would not talk about the manner of death or how long ago Ivan was killed.

Lt. Col. Tim Emington said that police had search dogs in the area of Saturday's trash collection both Thursday and Friday. Emington said police are confident the body was not in a trash can during that time.

The body was discovered at 7:25 a.m. Saturday by a crew from Metro Solid Waste Management Services in the back of a garbage truck that was making its rounds in the neighborhood near Ivan's home. Investigators took the truck to a secure location where the body was removed and transported to the coroner's office for an autopsy.

During a Saturday afternoon news conference, LMPD Chief Robert White said that the body was inside a plastic bag. Authorities were not sure where along the collection route the body was picked up. Police had nearly seven blocks surrounding the intersection of Fourth and Central taped off Saturday morning as they investigated the body's discovery.

After the autopsy was completed Sunday morning, deputy coroner Gayle Norris ruled that the manner of death was homicide but said exactly how the boy died had not been determined. Sunday afternoon, police were searching the trash from the garbage truck looking for clues into the child's death.
