A Prattville police officer was killed by a fellow officer during a training accident at Wetumpka Post Office, Wednesday, January 14. According to the Officer Down Memorial Page, the officers were using mock service weapons during the training exercise. once the exercise had been completed, one of the officers began carrying his service weapon again. Officer Clinton Earl Walker, 26, was accidently shot in the abdomen while standing on the loading the dock of the post office. He was reportedly transported to the Jackson Hospital where he succumbed to his wounds approximately 8 hours later. Officer Walker had served with the Prattville Police Department 3 years. He is survived by his wife.
