Alabama Officer Fatally Shot in Training Accident

A Prattville police officer was killed by a fellow officer during a training accident at Wetumpka Post Office, Wednesday, January 14. According to the Officer Down Memorial Page, the officers were using mock service weapons during the training exercise. o­nce the exercise had been completed, o­ne of the officers began carrying his service weapon again. Officer Clinton Earl Walker, 26, was accidently shot in the abdomen while standing o­n the loading the dock of the post office. He was reportedly transported to the Jackson Hospital where he succumbed to his wounds approximately 8 hours later. Officer Walker had served with the Prattville Police Department 3 years. He is survived by his wife.
