7th division flex detectives shot and killed an armed suspect during a narcotics investigation at 1320 Villa Park Drive in the Okolona area.
The shooting occured after the 4 detectives confronted 33 year old Chad Davis in the backyard of the home. Detectives repeatedly asked Davis to remove his hands from his pockets while they were interviewing him. Davis consistently ignored the detectives request. When Davis did remove his hands from his pocket he produced a handgun and pointed it towards the detectives.
The detectives immediately drew their weapons and shot Davis multiple times. He died at the scene.
Following the shooting Detectives discovered an active methamphetamine lab in a shed behind the home and spent the day dismantling the lab.
The detectives involved were Paul Detinger, Matt Keller, Colin King and Paul Neal.
