Grand Jury Will Review Police Shooting Following High Speed Chase

A grand jury will look into whether police committed any crimes when they shot and wounded a Louisville, Kentucky, man who led them on a 20-mile chase into southern Indiana.

Harrison County Prosecutor Dennis Byrd says the six-member jury will begin hearing evidence in the case of Trent Marion in late October.

But Byrd says he doesn't plan to call Marion to testify. He says Marion hasn't cooperated with authorities.

Marion's supporters say that without his testimony, the investigation will be a "whitewash."

Marion fled from Louisville police last January when they tried to arrest him for allegedly shoplifting at a store. When his car was stopped on Interstate 64 near Corydon, officers shot him in both wrists and the head.
