Louisville will pause Thursday to remember a police officer who was killed in the line of duty one year ago today.
Peter Grignon was shot and killed on what appeared to be a routine call.
Peter Grignon was responding to a call for a hit and run accident on Accasia Drive in Southwest Louisville.
When he arrived on the scene, Grignon was shot and killed by a teenage suspect who then shot and killed himself.
The community mourned the officer's death during his massive funeral and in several memorials since then.
Thursday night there will be another ceremony at 6:30 at the fallen law enforcement officers memorial in Jefferson Square
Over the past few weeks, we've talked with those who knew him best on how they're coping, and how they remember Peter.
Thursday night you'll hear more from his family and his fellow officers in a special tribute to Peter Grignon.
