The Coolest Event in Kentucky will return to five of the same locations as last year and add one new location as the Special Olympics Kentucky
Polar Bear Plunge continues to grow statewide. Louisville will host it's
Eighth Annual event in 2006, Lexington and Newport will both host their
Seventh Annual Plunges. Relative newcomers Lake Cumberland and Owensboro
will hold their Third and Second Annual Polar Bear Plunges respectively.
The newest member of the polar Bear Plunge family is Paducah, as the vent
continues a westward expansion that the Owensboro Plunge began in 2005.

Established in Louisville in February 1999 when more than 100 brrrrrave souls raised funds and made a splash into the Ohio river, this event has grown into a signature event across the country for the Special Olympics organization and it grows each year.
