There were two fatal shootings in a matter of hours in Louisville Thursday night.
Louisville Metro Police are investigating one shooting that happened early Friday morning. Police say it happened in the parking lot of Lee Roy's Bar and Grill around 2:00 a.m. Lee Roy's is located in the 5000 block of Poplar Level Road.
Police say the man died at the hospital. No motive has been established or arrests made.
The name of a second homicide victim in another shooting Thursday night has been released. Local activist Christopher 2X tells WHAS11 News that Christopher Harrison, 20, died after being shot in Louisville's Shawnee Neighborhood. A second man is recovering from his injuries. This shooting happened Thursday night at 39th and Main.
Christopher 2X says Harrison's mother wants the public to know what her son was really like. She's scheduled to speak Friday morning at a 10:30 news conference at 18th and Muhammad Ali. A vigil is set for 7:30 Friday night at the shooting scene at the corner of 39th and Main.
Police say a second man who was injured is expected to survive.
Neighbors reported hearing a loud boom around 10. Police looked for witnesses, but some neighbors were reluctant to talk. Officer Dwight Mitchell with the LMPD said, "Obviously it's frustrating to us... upon their hearts because the person who did this may do it again. Someone should come forward."
Police are also investigating another shooting earlier last night at 20th and Madison. It's not clear if the shootings are related.
The third shooting happened at Lee Roy's Bar & Grill on Poplar Level Road. Killed was 28-year-old Gilbert Mills, Jr. of Louisville, who was apparently a passenger in a car in the bar's parking lot before 2 a.m. Friday when someone shot at the car, hitting him multiple times. His friend in the driver's seat took him to Audubon Hospital, where he died of multiple gunshots.
