I have taken over for Steve Schweitzer (Lodge 614 Treasurer) as the benefits coordinator for Police and Firemen's Insurance. For those of you not familiar with this organization, PFIA has been around for nearly a hundred years and is established in 41 states. It is non profit and wholly owned & operated by active and retired police officers/firefighters. They have a number of accident/sickness/disability plans specifically tailored to meet the needs of first responders. They also offer a full line of life insurance products at competitive rates. Additionally, PFIA offers a full line of fraternal benefits to its members, including scholarship plans and a memorial fund. Finally, Police & Fire has an agreement with Lodge 614 whereby 20% of the compensation generated by the local PFIA representative (me, at this time) is funneled directly to Lodge 614's Emergency Relief Fund.
