Mckenzie Mattingly has decided to stop pursuing his bid to get his job back as a Louisville Metro Police Officer following a settlement agreement with the city that includes $60,000 in back-pay.
Mattingly was was temporarily reinstated and then immediately resigned. This action will likely help him in pursuing a career with a different law enforcement agency. (In January all files and records associated with the case were expunged)
The family of Michael Newby has apparently stated they are "angry and shocked" over the city's settlement with Mattingly.
We wish Brother Mattingly well and hope he finds great success in whatever endeavor he decides to pursue.
