A Kentucky native, Tamara is excited to call Louisville her home. She is originally from Bowling Green, Kentucky, where her family still lives. Tamara first started college at the University of Kentucky before finishing her degree in broadcast news at Western Kentucky University where she was named to the Hall of Distinguished Seniors. She began her career while in college at the local ABC affiliate, WBKO, where she anchored the weekend shows and reported weekly (when she wasn't in class). In 2008, she moved to Lexington to report for WKYT, the CBS affiliate. In 2011, she made the move to Louisville where she anchors the weekend show and reports weekly. In 2012, Tamara was honored to be named "Best News Anchor" by the Kentucky Associated Press. Over the years, she has also received a number of awards from the Kentucky Associated Press for her reporting, including "Best Continuing Coverage" and "Best Light News Feature". She has received some regional awards from the Society of Professional Journalists and even earned a national award while in college from SPJ for "television breaking news reporting." In her spare time she loves watching college basketball, spending time with friends and family, and her dog, Bunker.
