David James has 25 years of Law Enforcement Experience. Officer James worked with the Louisville Metro Police Department for 20 years. During his service with LMPD he served as a SWAT Team Member (Rappel Master), a Press Information Officer, a Narcotics Investigator (13 years) and FOP President. He spent 4 years with the Kentucky Attorney General in the capacity of Chief of Investigations and Member of the Kentucky Law Enforcement Council.
Officer James is a Certified Kentucky Law Enforcement Council Instructor specializing in Pressure Point Control Tactics, STOPS, 1st Aid/CPR, Patrol Techniques, LMPD Academy, Narcotics Investigations, Taser, Certified Fitness Training and FEMA Incident Command Systems Instructor (ICS). He is also Certified in State and Federal Courts as an Expert Witness in the fields of Narcotics and Dangerous Drugs. He currently holds a position in Staff Services at the University of Louisville Police Department, conducts crime prevention training and presentations, writes grants, and performs crime analysis.
