Duane Pohlman joined the WLKY team as an Investigative Reporter in 2011. Over the past 25 years, Pohlman has aired some of the most compelling and important investigations in local news. His award-winning investigations at television stations across the country (WEWS-TV - Cleveland, KING-TV - Seattle, WTMJ-TV-Milwaukee, WRAL-TV - Raleigh) revealed the resurgence of the Ku Klux Klan, exposed government corruption, gaps in security at nuclear plants, humane violations at Slaughterhouses, poisonous by-product of treated wood, injustices at coffee plantations, gaps in government oversight that led to a stolen baby trade in Guatemala, and the list goes on and on. Many of his investigations have triggered major changes, including congressional investigations and local prosecutions. In addition, Pohlman has covered war and peace overseas, covering troops in Zone of Separation in Bosnia and on the front line of war in the Middle East. Pohlman has been honored to receive more than 100 national, regional and state awards –- including Emmys, Murrows, SPJ and AP Awards -- and has been named Reporter of the Year 5 times in 3 states. Prior to accepting his new assignment at WLKY-TV, Pohlman was a member of the Board of Directors and Vice President of Sales for Latakoo, an Austin, Texas, based internet technology and media company. |
